Zhang Lab Presents—God of THz
Journey through dangerous and stunning landscapes regions of laser-induced plasma filaments while facing a wide variety of enemy creatures and monsters and Norse gods detection and analysis obstacles as Kratos Kareem and Atreus his lab partners search for answers. Kratos’ deadly Kareem’s ingenious Spartan Puerto Rican skills will be tested like never before as he battles gods and monsters across Nine Realms to protect struggles to dive deeper into the realms of THz to enlighten his family research group.
Kareem Garriga will defend his PhD thesis remotely on Friday, May 5th at 2pm via Zoom.

Generating Terahertz Waves from Water
Scientists have generated terahertz waves from solids, plasmas and even water vapor—but, until now, not from liquid water, which strongly absorbs radiation in that frequency range. Researchers at a U.S. university have finally figured out the right setup for generating broadband terahertz radiation from liquid water excited by femtosecond laser pulses (Appl. Phys. Lett., doi:10.1063/1.4990824).
